Community Conversation Flyer -Soteria“I would like to invite each of you, your neighbors, and your neighborhood associations to our Community Conversations! The first presentation will be on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 6pm, at the New Hope Outreach Center (307 West Morgan St. Greenville SC, 29611). Our second will be on Thursday January 25, 2018 at 6pm at Soteria CDC (210 Shaw St. Greenville SC, 29609). I am sure that some of you remember the presentation that JoKeitha did at the Greenville Dreams meeting in November regarding the Focused Needs and Assets Assessment that the United Way had conducted by Furman University. At the meeting, we had a passionate discussion about everyone’s initial thoughts, and there were some specific questions asked about the methodology. Even though the study focuses on ten neighborhoods (City View, West Greenville, South Welcome, South Berea, Pleasant Valley, North Gantt, Poe Mill, South Sans Souci, Southernside, and New Washington Heights), we are inviting everyone in the community to come and participate because we believe that there are common themes that apply to more neighborhoods. Everyone’s voice matters. We need your help getting as many participants as possible from your neighborhoods. United Way will pay the costs of printing if you feel like physical flyers will be effective. A researcher from Furman will be in attendance as well, with the understanding that there will be questions that need answering. In an effort by United Way to get a realistic and up to date status of our community, we hope that this study and your feedback will give us insight on how to most effectively serve our community going forward; so your input is important to us. Please let me know what role I can play in helping you get the word out.

Community Conversation Flyer-New HopeI would like to give a special thanks to Pastor Joseph Garrison of the New Hope Outreach Center for allowing us to convene in his Sanctuary; and also to Kwadjo Campbell of Poe Mill and Denise Patterson of Soteria CDC for allowing us to convene in their neighborhood.  Please let me know if you have any questions. I would appreciate an RSVP to this message as well; just to have an idea as to who will be in attendance.”

Thank you all for your engagement and passion!
